AI Narrative Report

How to generate an AI-written narrative summary of your inspection findings — ready for professional reports and carrier submissions.

3 min read

AI Narrative Report

The AI Narrative Report generates a technical, written summary of all findings in a job. Instead of assembling a narrative from scratch, you get a structured report draft based on the damage the AI detected and any manual findings you added. The narrative is ready to copy into professional reports, attach to carrier submissions, or reference in appraisal documents.

What the narrative includes

The AI-generated narrative covers:

  • Property damage summary — an overview of all damage identified across the property, organized by area and severity
  • Contextual observations — environmental and situational details drawn from your job data, such as date of loss, weather event type, and property characteristics
  • Finding references — each damage observation in the narrative traces back to a specific finding, so the reader can cross-reference with the photographic evidence
  • Material and component descriptions — the narrative identifies affected building materials and components by name for technical accuracy

The tone is professional and technical — written for an audience of adjusters, carriers, and appraisers who expect precise language.

How to generate a narrative

  1. Open the job on the web dashboard
  2. Navigate to Analyze → Narrative
  3. Click Generate Narrative — the AI compiles all findings and produces the report. Generation typically takes 15–30 seconds.
  4. Review the output — read through the narrative and verify that it accurately reflects your inspection

The narrative is generated from your findings. If you have not run AI damage detection or do not have any findings in the job, there is nothing for the AI to summarize. Make sure your findings are complete before generating.

Using the narrative

Once generated, you can:

  • Copy to clipboard — paste the narrative into your own report template, estimate software, or document
  • Include in a carrier submission — use the narrative as the written summary section of your claim documentation
  • Reference in appraisal documents — the technical language is appropriate for appraisal and umpire proceedings
  • Edit before using — the narrative is a draft. Adjust wording, add context, or remove sections as needed for your specific use case

The narrative updates if you regenerate it after modifying your findings. Previous versions are not retained — regenerating replaces the current narrative.

Plan availability

The AI Narrative Report is available on SCOPE and CERTIFY plans. FIELD plan users see the Narrative tab but are prompted to upgrade to access generation.

Tips for better narratives

  • Complete your findings first — the more findings the AI has to work with, the more comprehensive the narrative
  • Add context to findings — notes you add to individual findings may be incorporated into the narrative
  • Assign areas accurately — the narrative organizes damage by location, so correct area assignments produce a more logical structure
  • Review before sending — AI-generated text should always be reviewed by the professional submitting it
